Summary of The Economist articles

The decathlon of deprivation

The Multidimensional Poverty Index are feasible measures to assess the gap in the home, as the lack of income is not the only determinant being poor.
This survey covers education, health and quality of life at home, giving a weight to each deficiency, needs to expand not only the lack of money.

The Death Of Inflation

The high interest rates in the UK and the USA in the 70's, allowed these economies strengthen and maintain low inflation, an economy with long expansion and mild recessions.
Now with long recessions, inflation has fallen, due to high unemployment and the continued reduction of prices that make some companies to reduce inventory
Some analysts attribute the stability to central bank credibility, and that keeping measures that prevent rising prices, workers are pushing for significant increases in wages, it help companies to keep costs low and prices stable.
However, as inflation is no longer a reliable indicator of demand, will have to seek other measures to keep the economy flowing
