High Brazil inflation puts focus on rates
According to the article in The Economist - High
Brazil inflation puts focus on rates- a inflation in Brazil of 6.31% in March,
is located above the central bank's target, expected at 4.5%.
A reviewi for the history of inflation in the last
decade, shows that since 2004 inflation is not in this range and that from the
year 2007, with a value of 3,018%, it has been present a tendency on increasing
this rate.
Inflation and fragile expansion due to infrastructure
problems and competition from Chinese imports, creates a disturbing situation
for the recovery of the economy in this country.
Due to the mentioned fact, it is a priority to have
the Central Bank intervention with a tighter monetary policy and taking action
to support the generation of confidence from investors, this leads to a change
in policy regarding the reference rates, taking into account that they had been
declining for some periods and to date they are at the lowest historic value.
The Economist poll of forecasters
The
article "The Economist poll of forecasters" at The Economist
magazine, presents a study of a group of economists which records the range of
forecasts of GDP and inflation rates for 2013 for the United States, Japan and
the Euro zone. According to these forecasts there will be an economic growth
for the U.S. and Japan, while the euro zone tends to deteriorate.
According
to this, the economists surveyed have not taken into account the level of risk
posed by the threats that have been presented by North Korea to the United
States and Japan. Although analysts do not consider these threats seriously,
the fear remains and thus a present risk in the country that can translate into
changes with a trend to force a lower economic growth for both countries and
others dependent on these economies.
